That pano had 9,881 Views by June 2024 but if you look closely you will see a shoulder bag which I used on my 2022 trip to carry an equally tiny DJI drone with pano camera and here is a similar scene from above from that camera. People seem to prefer drone panos as it has 50,784 Views.

To mark the morphing from Nomad to Hermit here is my Camo Rama Google Guide tally where the number of Street View panos is probably frozen at just under 2,000 but the number of Views at over 10 million will probably keep rising exponentially.

But these figures are small when compared to my "colleagues" Jacques Lauber (operating in Greece for 12 years) and Uy Hoang (in England on river/canal trails for 8 years).

But that is not to say there was a sudden change from all-in-the-field to all-at-the-desk as I had shed my tie and stopped working-for-the-man once the Internet started in 1995, so have been working in Hermit AND Nomad mode (better known then as Road Warrior mode) since age 50 on a good number of "unstructured ideas". It simply means that now ALL looks like being at-the-desk.

So while most of the explanation above from age 75 is about the "Google Cloud" side of my trips to Greece there was more going on, because as I went from island to island (Paros, Ios, Milos, Naxos, Sifnos, Syros, Andros, Skopelos) in September 2019 the associated Business Opportunity ideas (ie for "MY Cloud") flooded in one after another and there was plenty of money in the Greek Tourism Economy in that bumper year. I made many contacts and could see myself living permanantly in Greece, but in any case made plans for a follow up trip in May 2020 as soon as I returned to Australia.

The key concept was the "Hub" of Camo's Digital Nomad Services which I quickly arranged as a dot com and purchased same, with the main service being Camos Digital Nomad Friendly Hotels which lined up exactly with government policy at the time to woo digital nomads (even though they did not know what they were, but believed they were worth billions in tourist Euros). So here was my initial Digital Nomad Friendly Hotels Web-App to test drive 50 or so hotels I selected for a pilot in 2020 (EXCEPT for covid that was).

And "hanging off" hotels were restaurants, hiking trails etc as well as an attempt to bring the bus services (KTEL) into the modern world information wise. BUT ditto for covid. So as an example of this (ie what might/should have been), still staying at the same location in Ios, we have

* A Hotel Web-App for Kritikakis Village, just back at Ios Port.

* An Ios KTEL Bus Service Web-App.

Alas then came covid and that 2020 trip as well as 3 more were booked and then cancelled with consequential loss of money and opportunity. Post covid I was able to return in May 2022 but of course the whole tourist climate was in shatters and everyone was "broke" as they put it (or had closed down).

But just as I was about to depart on my September 2022 trip with things "looking up" there were two sudden "covid aftershocks" in the form of my changed housing and health situations that forced me to cancel that trip as well and make a final decision on the Australia vs Greece living question before I had fully researched the covid ravaged situation in Greece. SO in January 2023 I had little choice but to take the "safe but boring" option to live out my days in Australia as a Nomad turned Hermit.

There was however one good result of covid whereby the airline schedules were so disrupted that in June 2022 I had a forced 1 day stopover in Singapore between Athens and Cairns. I therefore made a Web-App for the magnificent Changi Jewel which had recently been "Trekkered" by Google Street View (and added 100 or so of my own panos) in case I needed more funds to support a home in Greece.

So in October 2024 I am almost 2 years into my resolved Hermit Hideaway in Cairns Australia (where I have lived for the last 27 years).

The sudden attainment of security in a government flat in a retirement village was indeed a total release from the customary lifelong struggle to make ends meet and provide for the future. Although I was still very angry about being woked out of my much loved donga on the beach at the Daintree River I am now able to live a very comfortable life on the Age Pension (but without overseas travel of course).

As such I put both Greece and Singapore to one side (forever?) and AT MY OWN PACE went back to complete some UK National Trails such as the Cleveland Way and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Way

During that time Google had initiated a Beta program for walking trails and the like in an effort to allow Google Sat Nav to fully navigate trails where some sections were not "active" (generally narrow walking trails not fully visible to the Google AI engines). So I joined both "Road Fixer" and "Content Partner" programs and worked my way back to the Thames Path etc to fully activate the trails.

Then (for reasons I probably can't explain) I changed across to Portugal and Spain and made some Camino Web-Apps. I am also experimenting in converting some of my panos to Windows Backgrounds (more to come).

And although, like our heros in 2001 A Space Odyssey, I expect to be "confined to base" most of the time, just in case I need to "pop out" on a job my Camo Suit is hanging on the wall ready for my command of "Open the Pod Bay Doors HAL".

There is a story here which says in 2014 I saw this exact setup (minus the drone) in the window of my local disposal store in Mossman at rock bottom prices, eg the North Face Trousers were $10 instead of $160, so I decided to go back to London (which I did) and complete the Thames Path (Walk and Boat) I started in 1977 with my new "persona" of Camo Rama (or something similar).

However the more personal motivation was in 2015 when, after some 20 years of separation from my 3 kids by what is know as PAS (Parent Alienation Syndrome) via the evil Family Law Industry, my kids decided to find/visit me for my 70th birthday together with 5 grandchildren (now 7) I knew nothing about. That was a momentous event that laid the remaining old demons to rest and provided renewed motivation to travel overseas again.

But by end 2015, upon my return to Australia, I was diagnosed as needing major open heart surgery, which I had in 2016 but it didn't go too well and it was 2019 before I got back "all the strength I was about to regain" and "cut my cloth" to the Greek Islands as stated above.

So after almost 2 years in my Hermit Hideaway I have done my "Virtual Camino" and I am at a sort of crossroads about what Microsoft described in Windows 95 as "where do you want to go to today?". I think it is high time to take on the dreaded task of making a Menu Index (Directory) of the hundreds of Web-Apps etc sitting on my hosting service on the web (for my own benefit if for no other reason).

Maybe I have reached the point where I should stop creating more Web-Apps and go back to VIEW what I have already done? Time will tell ....

UPDATE 28 APRIL 2025

Just when I thought it was safe to fade into the Sunset, doing as suggested above, some recent matters have jarred me back into action. The first one is that the Wangetti Trail, after 5 years of Woke delay, has finally opened a small starting section, hence Getting the Wangetti Trail back on Track
